Colossalcon’s Kpop/Jpop Dance Competition

Rules:

Application/Audition Submission:
- Please submit your audition video as a file-sharing link in MP4 Format. Please ensure that the video is public and can be viewed by staff.
- This video does not have to be the act you will bring to Colossalcon.
- Ensure that your entire performance will be seen.
- Please record with a static, non-moving, horizontal camera.
- Audition video must be a minimum of 1 minute.
- Audition video must have been filmed within the last 12 months.
- No video editing/cutting allowed in the audition video. Audio editing to the music is okay.
  - Video must contain all members that will be in the performance.
  - If you do not have a video with all members, you may include multiple videos.
- Application does not guarantee a spot in the performance, selected acts will be contacted after the deadline closes.
- Applications must be submitted by 11:59 pm Eastern Time on April 7th.

Contest Rules:
- Please Note!: this event is not designed for idols (ie. overseas idols, kaigai idols). For an event centered on those groups, please check out the Colossalcon Idolfest event.
- Music/Dance:
  - No song will be allowed to be performed by MORE than two acts total (across solos, duos, and groups)
    - Song choices will be first come first serve basis
    - In the event that the song has already been chosen twice, the last applicant will be asked to select a new song
    - In the event that the act would like to change a song from their set, please contact the event coordinator.
  - No more than 3 songs in a mashup
    - Transition Audio is allowed
  - Minimum length of 2.5 minutes, Maximum length of 3.5 minutes
  - Accepted routines must be Kpop/Jpop/Cpop or adjacent – no western songs or covers
- Act Rules:
  - Upon sign up, ALL act members must be noted on the form. In the event of roster changes, please contact the coordinator, both for dropped and added members.
  - No performers will be allowed to participate in multiple acts within the same category (ie. a performer may do a solo and be in a group, but may not be in two groups)
  - If the set has won first place at a different event, it may NOT be performed at this event.
- Judging Rules:
  - Performances will be judged based on the following
    - Costuming (Outfits) (10pts)
    - Musicality (30pts)
    - Technique (30pts)
    - Stage Presence (facials/energy) (30pts)
