Outdoor Activities

Colossalcon Prime's Outdoor Activities bring the energy outside with a packed schedule of organized games, challenges, and late-night activities. Featuring competitive team sports like soccer, volleyball, dodgeball, and Ultimate Frisbee to interactive experiences inspired by anime and pop culture, these events are designed for movement, teamwork, and friendly rivalry.

Our lineup also includes unique nighttime programming, such as outdoor anime screenings and/or immersive storytelling experiences, offering something for both high-energy participants and those looking to unwind under the stars.

Please note that Outdoor Events are weather dependent, and activities may be delayed, modified, or canceled due to rain or other conditions. Schedule updates will be shared on the web guide as come up.

Glow Ultimate Frisbee

Ultimate Frisbee is a non-contact, self-refereed team sport played with a frisbee. Two teams of seven players typically compete on a field about the length of a football field, but narrower, each defending one end zone. The game starts with a "Pull" to determine possession. Players can move once the disc is released, and possession changes if the disc is not caught. The receiving team starts from where the disc crossed the line or can advance 1/3 of the field if it goes out of bounds. Passes can be made in any direction, and scoring requires the catcher to have a foot inside the end zone lines. The game can be won by reaching a set number of points or by running a clock. Defense aims to intercept passes without contact, and if the disc is caught in the end zone by the defense, they gain possession where it entered.

Anime under the stars

Anime under the stars is an outdoor drive-in movie styled showing of a popular anime show/movie that is themed each night. The outdoor screening will be held outside of the conops/ lounge entrance

VS Soccer

A game played by two teams of eleven players with a round ball that may not be touched with the hands or arms during play except by the goalkeepers. The object of the game is to score goals by kicking or heading the ball into the opponents' goal.

Dodgeball

Dodgeball is a team game in which players must dodge or catch balls thrown by the opposition whilst attempting to strike their opponents in the same way

Uma Musume Pretty Derby Parade and Race

There will be a Parade of all the Athletes are participants in the race. The parade will form by the starting gates and walk down the course. After the parade there will be time to get registered for the race. The race will be 5 racers in each heat with the top player or players advancing based on participation. Race will be along a flagged path along the outdoor events area.

Uma Musume Contests

We will have mini contests including best fancier, make an Uma contest, Uma trot off

Ninja

Ninja is an Ohio convention staple. Ninja is a cross between freeze tag and hot hands. The object of the game is to hit an opponent's hand with your hand when it is your turn. The game starts with everyone in a circle and taking a step back and striking a pose which they must stay in till it is their turn. When it is your turn you can make 1 fluid motion to try and strike an opponent's hand and must freeze in that position at the end of your turn. When someone is making a strike at your hand you can make 1 fluid motion to dodge and must freeze in that position. The victor is that last one not out.

GagaBall Thunderdome

Gaga is a fast paced, high energy sport played in an octagonal pit. The more players the better! Dubbed a kinder gentler version of dodgeball, the game is played with a soft foam ball, and combines the skills of dodging, striking, running, and jumping, while trying to hit opponents with a ball below the knees.

Suns out guns out volleyball

Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules

Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai.

Translated as "A Gathering of One Hundred Supernatural Tales," is a Japanese game where participants share ghost stories or tales of the strange and unusual, with each story told by the light of a candle that is then extinguished. As the game progresses and candles are snuffed out, the room becomes increasingly dark, creating a sense of suspense and anticipation. The meetup out to the location will be at the base of the Grand staircase. Any wanting to tell a story will be handed a LED candle.

Colossalcon Gathering of the Midnight Society

Night has fallen and little ones have gone to bed. Parties are in full swing and chaos flows through the con halls. You find yourself outside the convention center drawn by a light in the middle of a field no one seems to be able to find. Around the light sits fellow atendees that have sought refuge from the din inside telling stories of con horrors. submitted for approval of the Midnight Society I call this story " Thousand and one cringes" Come share your at con or getting to con horror stories
