SourNine is a transmasculine, disabled cosplayer that has been active since 2008. While he may not have completed more than 100 costumes (and took a couple years off to raise a kiddo!) he’s won numerous awards including – more recently – Animarathon 2026’s Best Craftsmanship and Youmacon 2026’s Best Master Craftsmanship. Sour has a degree in couture fashion design with two awards from his school for excellent design and construction, and his favorite kind of work is meticulous hand-stitching. While he has experience in the wide realm of cosplay fabrication – beading, goldwork, embroidery, draping, and hand-tailoring are his specialties; with a heavy interest in what’s inside each costume to create the finished piece.
