Cut/Sew is an artist-owned indie sewing pattern company that launched in 2016 with the goal of making patterns easier, faster, and cuter. We believe that anyone making stuff, whether it's for fashion or fandom, is making something amazing and it's our goal to make hyper-cute style accessible & welcoming to all (no exceptions).
We're a super small business and almost everything you see – from our patterns to our graphic design to our photography – is made by one person, but our friends and frequent collaborators help to make this project happen with their talent, their passion, and their inspiration. We hope you choose to support our little dream, and let us support your art & passion with our patterns.

From Cosplay to Broadway: How to Get Work in Theatre
Hosted by: Blue (@Aobittybaby)
In this lecture, broadway costumer Aobittybaby discusses how to make the jump from amateur cosplayer to professional in the theatre industry. This class will cover the current state of the professional costuming industry, the best way to land an interview, what skills and techniques you'll need to have under your belt, and how to prepare for a sewing test. This lecture will have a Q&A portion at the end in order to answer questions and give one-on-one advice.
Ask a Patternmaker
Hosted by: Madison of CUT/SEW (@heycutsew)
Unlock the hidden logic behind great costume fit! In this lively, beginner-friendly panel, professional patternmaker and costumer Madison May walks through the essential pattern adjustments every cosplayer should know, from quick proportion tweaks to reshaping silhouettes and fixing common fit issues. You’ll learn how patterns actually work, how to modify them for your character design, and how to solve those “why doesn’t this fit right?” mysteries. Along the way, Madison shares real behind-the-scenes insight from the professional costuming world: how theatrical and film shops approach patterning, what skills transfer directly from cosplay, and what it’s really like working in the industry. Bring your questions! We’ll end with a guided Q&A where you’re invited to ask about pattern hacks, costume troubleshooting, career paths, or anything you’ve always wondered about the craft.

Posing for Cosplay Photography
Hosted by: Aissac (@Aissac.Cos) and @final-egirl
Step in front of the camera with confidence! In this lecture, cosplayer Aissac.Cos and photographer Final-Egirl break down the fundamentals of posing for cosplay photography – no modeling experience required. This panel focuses on the why behind good poses: how posture, body language, and intention shape the final image, and how to adapt your posing to different characters, costumes, and comfort levels. Whether you freeze up during photoshoots or want to move beyond stiff “con poses,” this lecture offers practical tools to help you feel more confident, natural, and expressive in front of the lens. Aissac and Madison will also share real-world insight from years of cosplay and photography experience, including how to work with photographers, handle nerves, and advocate for yourself during shoots. The lecture concludes with an open Q&A, where attendees are encouraged to ask questions about posing, confidence, and cosplay photography at any level.
